
The H-1B1 program provides temporary employment for nonimmigrant foreign nationals in specialized occupations from Chile and Singapore, limited to 1,400 nationals from Chile and 5,400 nationals from Singapore.
The H-1B1 program is governed by many of the rules that apply to the H-1B visa program. The period of employment can be for one year or more, and additional extensions may be granted indefinitely.
Requirements for the U.S. Company
Must be an existing company in the U.S.
Must have the ability to pay the H-1B1 employee a salary based on the prevailing wage.
The prevailing wage rate is defined as the average salary paid to workers employed in a specific occupation in the area (geographic location) of intended employment.
Applicant Requirements
Must be a national of Chile or Singapore.
Must have a degree or equivalent (work experience) in a specialized occupation.
Must have a job offer from a U.S. company.
